Cherishing the ones.

Morning; with only my sis and I at home, I've got to do the cleaning! So I tried to make myself look better while cleaning, so here it is.

An eventful & meaningful day indeed! Met all the members at about 11.30am for lunch in school before we headed over to SWAMI Home. In case you don't know, it's an elderly home that is located around the Sembawang area.

The entrance.

Meeting room.
Reaching there at about 1 plus I assume, our group split up and interacted with the senior citizens! We sat there, chatted with them.
Such joys are something that can just never be replaced. Those smiles that you see on their faces, laughter heard and their eyes looking at you earnestly with warmth, doesn't that just make you go, "Awww" , tugging your heart strings at the same time?
I believe you would, if you truly felt it with your heart :)

Tea break time today was biscuits with barley drink for them!
Glad to see the students from some secondary schools coming forward as well, giving their time and sharing their love with the elderly. Your efforts have been appreciated :)
and it really made me felt that, "Hey, it doesn't matter how old you are, how rich/poor you are. It matters whether YOU are willing to do it." So why not let us just share this love and make the world a much happier place? :)
I believe that many people out there are doing it too!

After tea-break, was coloring session for the elderly. Barrett, Louis and I accompanied 2 female elderly, helping them out. I have to admit, the elderly that was sitting beside me and responding to me, I couldn't understand any single word at all!
I might have just sat there and do nothing, but this female elderly is AMAZING. She would just smile, hold on to my hand and just let you feel that she cares about you.
This taught me something: "You need no words to let others feel that you care, if your actions show that, what's the words for when talking is cheap?"

The 2 female elderly coloring!

Part of their art pieces.

By both aunties :)

Thanks for teaching me this auntie, and I would just want to thank you that you made this day of my life and AMAZING & FRUITFUL. We had to leave at 4, and that's when I hugged the lady before I officially waved goodbye to her. Before that, I'm truly grateful that she allowed me to take a photograph with her.
Thank you so much, I've learnt a lot.
This is how my day went, I shared my thoughts today.
Hope you've learnt and felt something too :)

Hi Auntie!

It's never too late to start caring, as long as you start.
Leave no regrets.
goodbye.

From Dad with ❤, wishing me all well for my upcoming Vietnam trip :)
Thanks dad, xoxo.

3.22pm
Meetings, meetings and more meetings 😌

10.24pm
Back from school

Trying TOO hard to vlog :( But failed.

I need to confess, that I really like to eat. Itchy mouth, you name it. I'm just tempted to chew on something. even before my dinner.
So I ate this...

A papaya.

Then this...

Talk about Salmon soup made with love by mum. :)
So.. you see the glutton in me? Not just that, even when I head out with my friends/cliques, I'm always thinking of food. Tsktsktsk I want to laugh at myself so badly :P

Oh well, food makes me happy. So eat it up, work it out!
And I guess I really need a good sleep soon. My face condition ain't very good because of my "sleeping late, wake up early" habit = LACK OF SLEEP.
I apologize but I just had to take a photo of this tired expression hehe.

Time to say HELLO to my bed and GOODNIGHT to YOU!

have a goodnight rest & God Bless.
goodbye.

A random night.

Getting my mum to photobomb me.
goodbye :)

There could be a thousand "Ifs", but what if none of it comes true?

Sawadeeka, dessert for you?

Today is an exceptionally free day. My meeting in school was cancelled so here I am to fill this space with what I did today: Thai Ruby Dessert.

Thai Ruby Dessert actually consists of water chestnut that is coated with corn starch(?) and floats* in the coconut soup base.
floats* because I don't know what other word I could use to describe :p

So how did I finally try this dessert when I wasn't a big fan of water chestnut? Because I was dumb enough in the past to think that it was bubur chacha(which is my favorite) and it looks so colorful that I couldn't take my eyes off it!!
And so I tried.
Fell in love with it.
The End.

Not exactly The End, cause I cooked it today!
Let's get cooking:

First of all, wash your water chestnuts as its coated with full of MUD! You don't want to eat mud into your tummy right? Wash it clean and best is to use a scrub to scrub off all the mud that's stained on it.

Tadah! That's the "clean" water chestnuts. But that's not the end, cause you don't eat those skin into your tummy too right :) SHAVE IT OFF!

I had to make the water chestnuts naked... so yes look at it.

See the pot below? Pour in 300ml of water and mix it with 200g worth of sugar. Boil it with minimal heat to ensure the sugar is fully dissolved!

Add in pandan leave as well to enhance the smell and tastiness :p

Mix 600ml of water with a packet of coconut milk or fresh coconut milk. And you get something like that at the bottom. Boil it!

Oh, please add in pandan leaves too to make the coconut taste even more enhancing! :)

Cut the water chestnuts into cubes and use colorings to "color" the water chestnut cubes! My apologies that there's no photo for that.

But, it should look something like that in the picture below. Place it in a container filled with the corn flour/starch thingy.
And you... shake it to mix it! You can even do HARLEM SHAKE for that if you feel like it at home.

So all the coated water chestnut cubes looks like that. Sieve it if you do not want the cubes to be too starchy or too thick!

Boil it in water.

Scoop it up.

Place it in iced water!
DO NOT PUT IT STRAIGHT INTO THE COCONUT SOUP BASE.

Remember the sugar water earlier on? Place the boiled chestnut cubes into the sugar water to allow the cubes to absorb the sweetness!
You can then consume it immediately or even place it in the refrigerator if you want to enjoy the dessert cold.

And, that's it! The final product, look below :)

Made filled with love, this is definitely a dessert that families would love to eat together crowding around the dining table like how my mum, sis and I did :)
It's easy, simple and simply yummy to cook it. Do try it out!! :)

And to end off with a note, please DO TAKE PRECAUTION WHILE SHAVING OFF THE CHESTNUT'S SKIN.
You DO NOT WANT to end up like this :

Have fun cooking and do it with love❤!

goodbye & God Bless :)

Today is a tiring, yet fulfilling day.
Kicked off my morning like this:
Teh-"O" ! back to black tea.

Butter Sugar Thick Toast! Sissy's fav.

Peanut Butter Thick Toast! Mum's fav. (Peanut Butter Jelly song~)

Dad's fav. Laksa ;)

This is MINE! Kaya Traditional Toast. Back to the good ol' days.

So we had Toast Box over at Vivo City first before heading off to what we call, the "Sentosa" island. It's been so long since we last took the Sentosa Express and we just realised the price went up to $3.50!! T.T Oh well, that's life isn't it.

Anyway moving on, we took the Sentosa Express and alighted at Waterfront station which is the station where you can see Universal Studios Singapore. MEMA and SEAA(our destination for the day!) are located there too! :)
So:...

and... TA-DAH! We are HERE.

Some random photos I took. Not yet in the Aquarium side, more of MEMA. Oh and that's my mum :)

2 cutie pies I saw playing with those instruments! They were playing really enthusiastically but sadly they had to go off cause their parents told them to do so. hahaha

The Entrance. And that's my sister with her "Kanken bag" hahaha her fav. afterall.

Let the photos do the speaking:

that's my sis, dad and mum :)

Holographic sight?

Stingray!!

"What's up!"

"Look at that dude."

Sneakers at its best.

Fish that my dad voted as the nicest.

Hi to the diver cleaning the tank!

Finally... a family shot :)

My sis and I!

And that's... my dad with the wax model I guess?

Had Astons for lunch and I left for school due to my meeting. :(
It was kind of like an anti-climax to an awesome day but I couldn't do anything about it...
9 more days away.

"Will you remember me?"
"Will you cherish me when my presence is still here?"
"What if one day I decided to leave and... never come back to this island?"
Some things... that you just never will consider.

goodbye.
