My 18th Birthday(Part 1)

Back once again!
Sorry for disappearing for quite a while! Apparently I have not blogged for like 11 days & counting..
But please let me catch your attention once again!
PLEASE.
While, I have been rather busy with work lately that I have been neglecting this space of mine

:(

So let me share with you with about the biggest event of my life this year 2013.
My 18th BIRTHDAY!!

No, I didn't hold any birthday bash or whatever.
I was intending to celebrate it with some of my closest ones which apparently I'm caught up with so many surprises!!

Firstly, I can't miss out on my FAMILY.

  #ootd for the day:
Laced cream top x abercrombie
Maroon skater skirt x far east plaza
Sandals x Rubi
Fav. bag x eatingzombie

So I went furniture hunting with my bro before birthday dinner!

Apparently, IKEA.
No meatballs this time round though, but we had Shihlin Tempura and Sharetea!
Yipee!
Because birthday girl is happy so anything just feels nicer, sweeter and nothing feels more than that.

Where else is a better place for family gatherings?
BUFFET, because you can just use those walking around and choosing food together as bonding time!
Back to my fam's favorite hideout, Buffet Town located at Raffles Shopping Centre Basement.

At a reasonable price, their oysters are real fresh!
You need to queue for this, MUST if you're an oyster lover.

First round, I was diligent enough to take a photo.
Next few... all down in my tummy yummy!
*slurps slurps slurps*

Chili Crab, Singapore's must-have delicacies.
Comes approx. every 15 mins and it's good!
The buns especially!!!
My sis and I can go mad about it.

Every meal, can't miss out on my veggies.
Stir-fried vegetables or you can call it the Teppanyaki corner;
simply take up the veggies/meat that you want and they will whip it up for you!
Served hot & smells *mmhmm* good!

BBQ sauce chicken, dory fishy, german sausage and butter corn!

Fresh prawns that my mum took too many!
teehee.

Scallops!
Under the sea~~

My favorite...desserts!
Love this tart filled with peppermint cream!
Smooth and not too creamy, so I didn't get sick of it!
I took a lot of this hehehe.
IF you're wondering why the dessert plate was starting to empty out.

We are the crazy Simpsons family.

Then next up was Xin Ping!

#ootd:
Orange cropped Cami x Topshop
Blue Printed Shorts x Abercrombie
Fav. bag again! x eatingzombie

Ssikkek Korean BBQ!
Slurps yummy garlic chicken that is super SOFT;
CHEWY;
SAVORY;
YOU JUST CAN'T STOP FROM A 2ND SERVING.

the broccoli and cauliflowers which tasted just like how my mum cooks it.
Absolute love & must try!

What's korean food without ddbeokki(rice cakes)!
But I think perhaps you shouldn't have too much of this cause you will get too full.
And it's definitely better to eat it warm as it gets tough when served cold.
Do take note of this!

When we're busy eating, everything aside.
HAHA.

And someone went off to the toilet...

This appeared!

My pretty Oreo Cheesecake from Bakerzin given by Xin Ping!
It was absolutely delicious!
I hate cheese, in fact all types of cheese.
Even I was particular about certain cheesecakes flavor, but this got me overwhelmed.
Even though it got a bit mushy when we walked under the sun for TOO LONG, it still tasted so good!
Shared with Xin Ping, and that moment just made our friendship even closer!
Thank you so much for the surprise ;)
And absolutely loving my birthday gift which I will be wearing soon!

Actual Day!

Birthday cake from family, my favorite mocha flavored cake from Prima Deli!

Fresh, smooth and soft texture of the cream, topped off with chocolate bits & chocolate rice and the sides.
Cream & chocolate loaded with strong mocha flavor which balances the sweetness & slight bitterness of coffee.
Sink your teeth into a bite of it, I'm sure you will want a second bite.
Because it's just so good.
;)

Yes cake, Hi, I'm gonna conquer YOU.

Treat from my serious bro ;)

Peanuts, to satisfy our hunger before our food arrives.
I don't get how we can dislike it sometimes but when it's served in restaurants, we just can't help taking another one and another.
HAHA irony isn't it?

Loving the ambience over at Soup Restuarant which recently opened at the extension side of Suntec City!
Feeling the chinese culture once again.

Tsamsui Ginger Chicken!
Must order.
Wrap it up with a lettuce, chix and ginger seasoning, all ready to go into your tummy!

For spicy-food lovers, Ah Gong Fan Shu Ye(Sweet Potato leaves??)
LOL.
Better than kangkong!
One of my loves!

That's a table for two.
Yes.
2.
My bro does the ordering.

Weird me or not?
Can't resist tangyuans when I'm in Chinese restaurants cause it just feels like a family reunion each time I dine in such places!
$2, I told my brother it was cheap.
Yes, and they came in a bowl.
With 2 glutinous rice balls.
1 for $1.
Well, it was afterall for the ginger soup which I wouldn't eat tangyuans without.
Great for body too maybe?
Detox.

That's end of Part 1!!
More to come.
Stay tuned.
Read on till the next post.

Goodbye.

This year's winter is gonna be different, interesting together with NEW LOOK.
Touching on:

Baboushka
(Ba-boush-ka)

New Model Army

Grunge

Baboushka gave me full of question marks earlier on.
The thing is..
WHAT IS BABOUSHKA?

If you have seen/heard/like the Russian culture, you would probably know about some famous prints of theirs.

Tapestry Floral Prints & Lace
Floral prints have been a trend that has been ongoing for quite a few years, from light colored to dark colored floral prints which enhances the beauty of girls/ladies in an overall feminine, sweet-looking style.

This winter,
New Look uses floral prints not only to define the beauty of women, but to add on that classy-look which further compliment the elegance of women!

The embossed floral prints done on the dresses, tops are coming from the Russian Glamorous inspiration which defines the elegance in women which is what New Look wants to bring out in the feminine side of YOU!

Imagine from 'a girl next door' look:

to a classy look:

Tartan prints.

Not a fan of floral prints? No worries because tribal/aztec prints are used by New Look as well to give out that classy, edgy, sexy look.

If you're frequent town-goers and prefer going for a casual, street chic classy style, tapestry floral prints/aztec will be just right for you!

*Apologies for poor quality photos due to angle issues!*

If you managed to notice the prints on the tapestry floral dress, it uses a mixture of floral prints together with partial aztec prints which brings out a sweet-look.
Put a knitted cardigan over to give off a cozy, gentle look.

Too girly?
Throw over a gold/silver/black statement necklace to give off an edgy look together with ankle boots or dark-colored heels.

Look out for what New Look is coming out soon!

New Model Army
Always liked how models strut down the catwalk?
But how can they still look so model-like even off-duties?
New Model Army aims to bring out a casual off duty style, with a premium edge look to still give off a professional look.

One of the styles shown above: Red spaghetti top w/ leopard prints, matched with a skirt reinnovated with zips, topped off with a cream white blazer.
Just to note!
The blazer can be a good coverage for ladies who are not daring enough to wear such daring colors like red or animal prints, so there's a good proportion to it!

What's up for New Model Army up in New Look?

Even when you're wearing a skirt, wear over a varsity or leather jacket to enhance the swag and edgy feel!
Now who says skirt must be worn in a girly style?
Wear out your true self, that's a style.

You can put on a snapback as well as a bright red lipstick to bring out that sexy and edgy-looking outfit!

Main idea of NMA: the details, zips & leather textures are great to play around with for a cool, rocker chic & sexy look.

There's more to choose from..

So there's nothing to fret about.
:)

Grunge

If you're those school girls who simply loves the "girl-next-door-look" , hip hop (e.g. music festivals), or even office ladies who just wanna stay looking young, cheerful and bring out that active side of you, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT ON THE GRUNGE LOOK.
Bring back all your old clothes and set your timeline back to the 90s' Grunge look,
and let's say adding that little twist to that rebel side of yours,
feminine yet punk-looking side is what we wanna show!

Dungarees, especially denim ones, have been a recent trend that is here to stay for a lil' while.
Even I am liking dungarees even though I don't really like making myself seem so puny and kiddy.
One of my outfits;

My blue striped dungaree from Aforarcade.
Looking normal with a white top.

But no!
Instead of wearing a long white t-shirt, I decided to wear it out with my white cropped top from Topshop as well as a pair of Dr Martens (Mary Janes) to give off a more cool look, yet it doesn't steal much lime light of the dungaree!
One of my favorite outfits so far ;)

I know this outfit matched might seem crazy during summer.
During a hot summer, you wouldn't want to wrap yourself up like a huge dumpling and sweat like you're in sauna right!

Don't you fret!
Look at how this cardigan is actually translucent and flair at the back which allows wind to penetrate through!
No sweat even when wearing a cardigan!
Wear over a sheer, sleeveless buttoned up shirt(of course a tank or bandeau inside; if you're a more conservative dresser) this would be a perfect outfit for spring, summer or maybe autumn!
Even during winter when in Singapore we only have 1 season: HOT SUMMER.

Key point?
New Look has it done for you, whether it is really a snowy winter or sunny winter, we are all geared up for every season!

What are some styles done up by the other bloggers?
With a little contest done, let me bring you through the styles done your truly by
US! ;)
