Inner.

I'm feeling down, confused, angst and simply indignant.

Before you read on, do you ever feel disregarded?

That's the question I've been asking myself.
Could be within these days, weeks, months, years.
I always thought.
In life, as we grow up, we tend to have more responsibility and tasks in lives to complete, simply because we know we need to and can do it.
As a sister, I find it essential for me to do things for my siblings and family as well.
I can say, I try to put in my heart to do my very best for them.
I do flare up at them at times, well who doesn't?

But I would apologise in an attempt to reunite this family harmony that we call it.
I tried, by surprising them, buying movie tickets to watch with them, even if I can say I barely earn a minimum per month to even feed my expenses.

All I wished, was just them to be happy.
In fact, most of them appreciated it.
But why can't appreciation be shown?

Where's the usual social etiquette of a simple "Thank you" when someone treats you or something?

I can do for you anything, in fact as long as I can achieve it, I will.
I can do the dishes for you, I can cook for you, making your bed for you, prepare your water bottle etc.
I don't need a "Thank you", I really don't.
All I wanted, was just you not taking me for granted.
Respect as a family member.

That's it.
Is it that hard to achieve?
How do we ever get someone to appreciate our existence?
I don't want regrets.
I don't.
But I can't imagine that if someday comes and we all regretted for our actions.
Someday, we will be separated.
We will, in fact Everyone does.

Just make every min with anyone the most precious moment of your life.
Don't waste it.
Don't disregard it.

Time never turns back for us, we turn back and look at them.
With teary eyes, with regretful words.
With remorse.

Because we know we ain't getting back those moments.

I love...Japanese food!

Japanese food has never been out of my league.
Especially for someone like me who loves to nibble, food like sushi is just too tempting for me to resist.
Well, of course I love food such as okonomiyaki, donburi and many more.
I love noodles too, preferably udon over ramen.
However, having seen all the good reviews about Santouka Ramen by some other bloggers, I decided to give it a shot too to really taste how good it is!

In Singapore, there's 2 outlets on Santouka Ramen: 1 being at The Central (Clarke Quay) and the other at Orchard Cuppage (just beside Orchard Centrepoint)

With a coupon, we've got some Cha-Shu to kick off our meal!
I ain't a fan of pork dishes, but this was surprisingly good.
With a tender and chewy texture, there wasn't too much of pork smell/taste, which some people might not be favourable of.
As much as it is chewy, it was easy to bite off and goes great with the ramen soup.

Not long after, ramen is served!

As much as I love spicy stuff, I was definitely glad to see that many people have raved about the Kara Miso Ramen (Hot bean paste soup base) so how can I miss that out?
The soup was definitely good, however, just not as spicy as how I would want it to be :(
But on a bright side, it might be suitable for the general public as it's not overly spicy!
The noodles wasn't up to our expectations though, kind of like an instant noodles texture.
Probably the ones at Central would have been better.

My friend got the salt soup ramen which was fantastic itself.
It wasn't too salty, and tasted rather like a tonkotsu soup base which I believe the soup base was taken into great effort making it.

Noodles are rather filling, which I'm absolutely appealed to Santouka Ramen offering different sizes for they ramen!
Ranging between Small, Medium & Large size, there isn't a chance that you might want to waste the noodles, unless our appetite is even smaller than a Small.
And of course, you save on your cost and food wastage!
Excellent idea ;)

As much as the noodles weren't satisfying, I believe that the soup base is one of the key factor to a good ramen as well.
So, if you're a ramen lover who is seeking for a good soup base, Santouka Ramen is recommended for you!
Perhaps you can try out the Central outlet which I think the noodle texture might vary as the Orcahrd outlet.

-------------

After a fulfilling lunch, Xinping and I headed off to Forever 21 for some shopping and just simply spending our time before we headed on to make her spectacles.
Absolutely loving F21's seasonal clothes now!
So floral and crochet-like, I couldn't resist it but gotta reduce on my spending.
So I splurged on a pretty nice striped cap!
only at SGD15, it was pretty worth the price.
Head on to my Instagram @cynnieco to view it!
One of my ootd which I think I looked quite action but whatever hahaha.
Love the look anyway.

------------

Then off for dinner at Mayim!
A Chinese Restaurant located at Northpoint (NS13 Yishun station)

Hot and Sour soup as usual, just to get our tastebuds kicking before we rolled on to our mains.

Some stir-fried noodles with mushrooms, leek and everything else.

Oh, that's my dad and bro!
Say hi hahaha.

My dumplings noodle soup!
Absolutely love how smooth the handmade lamian noodles are and the dumplings were just simply chewy and the skin is so smooth that it glided down my throat!
Of course not as a whole that will make you choke ok, i mean after you bit if off bit by bit hehe.

Dad's Shanghai Tan Lamian!
Used to be my favourite dish until I showed favouritism to my new bowl of noodles.
Reason why I loved this is because, the noodles are FAT like udon :p

And ending this post with my mum enjoying her food!

It's always nice to see down together with your family, gathered round the table and having a nice meal with frequent chatters and feeding one another with food.
Too bad my sis wasn't around but it was a good meal!

goodbye and hope to hear from you guys soon!

What have I been up to lately.

Ahhh the rain is finally here.
I'm really grateful that the rain came in time after not raining for a few weeks or even a month.
The grass was literally burnt and they seemed like they were dying :'(
But isn't it beautiful to see how Mother Nature saves the natural beauty around us? :')

---------

Anyway, these few days were hectic.
Besides just working, I had so many other stuffs like my travel to settle.
And also prepping dinner for my family..
which I think I'm improving!

Recently, I was soooooo caught up with Japanese dramas.
Which especially would be Miss Pilot just released last year!
Studying in the field of aviation was my passion.
I thought, well it might not eventually be what I would really end up in the future.
However, after watching Miss Pilot, I'm so much more affirmed and sure of this aviation path that I want to walk on.
And guess what!

I'm aspiring to be a ground staff.
To be able to serve the passengers and help them out in need, see the smiles on them, hearing their complaints(which obviously is NOT desired, but o'well we've got to deal with it).

The male lead, perhaps I guess, was Saito Takumi which is my new Japanese idol.
Hahahaha ;)

Nevertheless, it is an inspirational drama to catch so don't miss out on it if you're passionate about aviation!

Are there anymore shows to be recommended?
If so, I would really like to hear about it!
And also kill time since I'm trying to occupy all my days.

I will be sharing more of my food adventures coming up next so stay tuned!

goodbye,
cynnie.

It's a wrapping good time!

In each of our life, every life story is well...
compiled together by many other stories.
it can be a series of events,
the moment we graduated,
the moment we found someone we love,
the moment we got married,
or even the moment when things just doesn't go our way.
We thought we are screwed.

But how many times have we experienced happiness and how many times have we experienced sadness?

I've never really wanted to put stories of my life that can be kind of upsetting in my blog,
because I always choose to look and mention the happier stuff.

Talk about wrapping up stuff...
perhaps there's one particular stuff that I would want to wrap up after a year.
I could say I used to pretty much like someone.
I tried to accept and well I guess it pretty much went well.
but because of something awkward which actually happened, the 2 of us kind of... fell apart.

After exactly a year or so, I decided perhaps I should give it another try with "Anonymous".
It seemed pretty well again.
Until suspicions and jealousy got in.

it was pretty unbearable.
:(

Everything about me, got in suspicions from Anonymous.
How me hanging out and chilling out with friends got Anonymous jealous.
I tried to bear with it, giving in.
Yet what I've got was more jealousy that I felt I no longer had control of my life.
I felt "jailed".

That's when I've decided to give up on everything now.
Pretty much why I felt that this particular nuffnang contest made me thought about it a lot.

For a year, it has been dragging all this while.
And now it's time to get it wrapped up.
Giving up and moving on.

Perhaps my definition of "wrapping up" may not be the definition of what nuffnang had defined.
But o'well, I'm glad it gave me a push factor to move on in life.

BUT.

On a brighter note, we should probably start living life happier!
Just like how my previous post on cafe-hopping discovered my new hobby of cafe-hopping.
And of course it pretty much sparked my love for more cooking and baking!

Oreo cheesecake cookies from yesterday's baking!

Also pretty much looking forward to my volunteer session with my godparents this coming Thursday!

That's how I'm unfolding/unwrapping happy moments into my life :)
with 54 more days to Florida,
I pretty hope through these 54 days, I would be able to share more about my Singapore life and reflect on it.
Not forgetting sharing my Florida life with you guys when I get there!

Besides wrapping/unwrapping sadness and happiness....

what else is there to wrap and unwrap?

Unwrap good times with KFC Bandito Pockett!
KFC Bandito Pockett packed with so many tasty ingredients, 100% chicken fillet marinated in signature hot & crispy flavor, served on a bed of fresh lettuce, with salsa and mayonnaise, all wrapped in a tortilla and toasted for that extra crunch. It is every KFC fan’s favourite wrap! Try it now to enjoy a good time!
Time for some wholly good times with Bandito Pockett at KFC!
What's your story that you wish to wrap & unwrap?
Feel free to share it with me or at cynnie.co@gmail.com!
goodbye & xoxo,
cynnie.

From food to anything: A little cafe-hopping journey begins!

A newbie me.
Have never been much of a cafe-hopper.
But now I'm super excited to be visiting those cafes all around Singapore!
Besides the fact of me trying to utilise my camera,
and because now there's a purpose to taking those delish food,
is sharing it with you guys!

Too much nonsense; let's begin!!

2 stops to begin with for now:

246 Upper Thomson Road
Singapore 574370
+65 6753 1718

If you love waffles with ice cream, this might be one of the popular places you might begin with!

They have a whole range of ice cream flavours to begin with:
Matcha; Rum & Raisin; Nutella; Kahlual; Earl Grey; Peppermint Brownie; Horlicks Tim Tam and all the other novelty ice cream flavours that you won't be able to get it off the supermarkets!

What I've got: Earl Grey, Nutella & Salted Caramel

Sorry, was too busy gobbling down my ice cream I couldn't take a nice shot of all the other ice cream on display.. oops hehe :P

Personally, I felt that the Nutella and Salted Caramel was the best ice cream flavours chosen out of all the 3 scoops I've got!
Nutella tasted kind of malty-ish, so if you're fans of milo, horlicks, oval tine etc. this might be just right for you!!

Salted Caramel; so as to say of the shop name, might just be one of the best ice cream flavour tasted.
With a tinge of sweetness and a caramelised taste, it would be best if topped with crushed peanuts which I skipped on and totally regretted it...
:(

Earl Grey wasn't much of my fancy though.
To me, it tasted a bit like bacon?
Probably my tastebuds gone haywire after all the eating season these days.
Worth a try!
But probably I would try the others next time :)

All I could say was. simplicity was the main concept of the whole ice cream store.
Whether it's a slacking day out, a nice catching up day with your girls/guys/group of friends,
this place definitely is spacious enough and cosy enough to get you settled in;

sinking your teeth in those fluffy waffles,
scooping up spoonfuls of ice-cream and satisfying those sweet taste buds of yours,
having a nice warm latte or hot chocolate,
simply chatting over everything under the sky.

Life :)

Pricing wise, I pretty much think it was affordable!
I've got like 3 scoops of ice-cream at $7.90!

Make it your next stop-by list.

-------------------------------

Next & final stop for my day today;

Address:
200 Upp Thomson Road
#01-04
Thomson Imperial Court
Singapore 574424

As the name suggested, little pancakes.
I am a great big fan of pancakes.
Literally from pancakes with maple syrup to those traditional pancakes known as Mian Jian Kueh with crushed peanuts or coconut flakes, even red bean paste too.
I can gobble up easily up to 2 or 3.

Normally the pancakes are like 10-15cm wide?
of course its round too not squarish hahaha.
But these pancakes are UTTERLY CUTE!!!

Let me show you my babies

Just look at how tiny it is!

Before I start rambling on my food,

Clean & simple look for any time of the day to chill out.

Just look at them at work!
Together with a open-spaced kitchen to bring you the closest experience.

"Cook the pancakes
Flip the pancakes
Catch it if you can"

:) *smirks*

Kicked off my meal with a nice warm Hazelnut Latte.
A large cup of it cost $5,
absolutely worth and am loving' it!
Oh, and I loved the crockeries used too teehee.

Andrew got a Big Breakfast for brunch!
it includes:
10 mini pancakes
scrambled eggs
cocktail sausages
mashed potato
salad
& a complimentary maple syrup which you can top up for more at $2!
Or you can at least get a strawberry or blueberry sauce etc.

And this, cost $10.90.
Worth it or not; it's up to you decide.
But to me, it definitely was a steal for such great quality food and portion!

If you guys have been reading my blog or pretty much know me well,
I've always like my food or things to be original or simple.
'Simple & sweet' was simply what I ordered off the menu!
Just a slab of butter together with maple syrup accompanying along 10 mini pancakes.

What I needed for a perfect afternoon.
Costing at only $6.90,
the portion was enough to fill me and yet satisfy my taste buds!

What was great about this place...

the pancakes were so fluffy that I was gonna die.
the pancake size was awesome not to make you get pretty much sick of it.
the price can be said as affordable.
(not wanting to say that it's affordable for everyone, well, everyone have got their standards isn't it?)

Worth a visit for pancake lovers!

let's get crackin'.

goodbye,
cynnie.

Less than 2 months.

EXAMS ARE OVER.

That's right, so I'm back to being thepurpledaisies again!
And I swear I will really blog more often since I've just got a new laptop.

Let me tell you, exams are insane.
I think I've probably repeated this so many times but this time I guess I broke my own record, surviving through those close-to-sleepless nights.
Let's hope that my results are up to my expectations before I leave off for Florida!
Much apologies to Majorlica Majorca and Laneige.
I really appreciated the invitation but due to schoolwork and examinations, I had to forsake it.
I'm really looking forward to join in more events so that I cane share my personal experience and reviews with you guys!

As you guys have known I have started using both Laneige and Majolica Majorca products ever since I have been extended invites from them.
Since then on, I started purchasing more of such make-up products to make sure I look really presentable or simply hiding some flaws that I have.

Now, I'm so in love with Tsubaki's haircare products as well!
Love the texture of my hair and together with all the complimentary media kit which I've got previously from Tsubaki.

I simply love Shiseido's products!

Gonna start preparing for cafe-hopping tomorrow so stay tuned to what cafe reviews I will be having for you!

goodnight & goodbye,
cynnie.
