Thoughts of Walter Mitty, Pre-CNY!

WOW.
It's been about 3 weeks since I last blogged!
Apologies for my abstinence because I was barely surviving with my projects.
4 projects, 1 assignment submission within 1-2 weeks were definitely taking a toll on me :(
2 have been cleared and so I'm taking a time off from studies on this special CNY eve!
So, on this special day, I wonder what CNY eve is in store for each and everyone of you.
Care to share? :)

Well, before I kick-off this busy day of mine helping my parents to prepare for the huge steamboat feast for reunion dinner tonight, or before I start keeping track of how CNY has been going on for me, there's a little something which I want to share my thoughts on and have been kept in my mind for a really long time.

Just a few weeks ago, I finally caught "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" in the cinemas!
Definitely not missing it out because I'm a huge fan of Ben Stiller.
His humorous character never failed to put a smile on my face while watching his movie.
I've always been given this impression that Ben Stiller is really more of a funny personality?
Which I believe this movie that I'm sharing about portrayed a drastic contrast of how he can actually be.

Believe it or not, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" was directed by Ben Stiller and the meaning behind this movie is really inspirational.
Just the type of movie for me.

"Stop Dreaming, Start Living."

This movie taught me what's the purpose of life.
What's the purpose for each and everyone of our lives.
So distinct, so unique, simply hard to understand what's the goal in our life which we are perhaps in a dilemma to simply just choose one and focus.

But, this movie, made me had self-actualization of what I wanted in life.
To be studying in Aviation Management & Services (AMS) was never what I had expected in my life to come about. (I thought I was going to study hospitality and tourism haha.)

Then coming to my dreams of wanting to travel out of Singapore to explore the world.
Pursued my dreams, getting an internship over at Disney was simply one of the best news in my life.

Aviation, shall lead me to the endless wonders of the world, the wanderlust mind of mine to flow with.

Passion: Photography.
This movie felt like it was almost custom-made for me(because it's everything I wanted!)
I have always loved photography, been trying to explore as much as I could.
But seriously, I guess I might need so many more years of experience to get the hang of it HAHA.
So this particular scene of Walter and Shane over at Mount Himalayas taking a snapshot of a white tiger..
And one of the powerful sentence that got me to realize,

"Sometimes, when I see something, I will just sink into the moment and enjoy it, not taking any to distract this moment."

Yes, pictures says a thousand words, but how often do we look at the pictures and get reminded of the moment?
Just me again, but I would want to sink into that moment as well which makes my DSLR kind of redundant at times especially for events, when all I wanted was to enjoy that moment,
but I've got to take photos to entertain all my lovely readers!

Backpacking - working towards this dream.
Climbing up the mountains...well I can't guarantee whether I have the strength nor the guts to do it, but I do want to try backpacking to Europe someday, exploring the beautiful wonders that Mother Earth brough about.
Well, that is if it has not modernized into a City.
Backpacking to New York will definitely be one of the biggest dreams I ever held, visiting the Times Square.

I had, so many dreams to achieve, so many life struggles to go through, so many problems to think about, so many things to worry about, so many passions to fight for.
But, I am satisfied with life.
I started dreaming.
But now, I'm not.
I'm living and working for it.

That's "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"

Is that yours too? ;)

So, before CNY begin, I have started this family-loving moments with my parents at Chinatown!

Visiting grandma to deliver her CNY goodies!

Selfie with mum and bought her what she wanted - Pineapple lanterns HAHA:)

And our annual CNY treats!

Actually I don't know what I'm eating but it tastes so good!

Literally felt like I was out of Singapore for a lil' while.

Wonton soup!

Lime juice, our daily MUST.

The chix with rice HAHAHA :D

Tsubaki x Senka New Products Launch!

Have I ever expressed how much I loved attending events by the sub-brands of Shiseido?
From Majolica Majorca, to Ma Cherie, Senka, Tsubaki, ZA..
It was really a fulfilling journey throughout my blogging life and I'm glad to be able to join back DSPG and the Shiseido team over at Butter Studio for Tsubaki x Senka New product Launch!

Well, it was pretty near X'mas that period and I really loved how Butter Studio how was well-decorated with all the X'mas stuff and the set-up done by the DSPG team!

Well, Trista and I were going around and saying "Awww..." Hehehe :D

Feeling the X'mas love yet?

Below are the ones by DPSG too!

The 'clouds' are irresistibly cute!

Okay so this is one of the game which I totally sucked at *sigh
Literally zero score for this camellia toss which I was supposed to throw the flowers in to answer questions...
Oops.

The event was overwhelming!
The place was packed with the bloggers and everyone was mixing around and having chats among themselves.
So cozy and this is the type of events that I look forward to every time!

Apparently...my eyebags looked pretty bad that day so I had to cover and asked Trista for a re-shoot :P

Senka Skincare products.

And now...my favorite part.
How generous Tsubaki & Senka are in terms of their media pack.

\
This was what I won through the activities.
Tsubaki's Shampoo and Conditioner which smells so good!
And I apparently had a good hair day the next day?
It's either I slept in a super nice sleeping posture or it's just some magic Tsubaki is casting on my hair hehehe.

Senka's Speedy Perfect Whip which is one of their hot-seller and latest foam facial cleanser!
It felt like marshmallows on my face.
And my face feels so refreshed!
Definitely a different type of facial cleanser that I've used before and I would say it's really quality product
so don't play play with Senka's product ;))

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PRODUCT OF ALL.
Tsubaki's instant moisture enhanced luster.
Well, previously the lady from Shiseido commented that my hair was pretty well taken care of so all I needed was this!
It gives off this floral smell that smells so good like I literally walked out of the shower after washing my hair!
And my hair was literally shining because it's just so moisturized
(not like those oily oily hair okay, I know what y'all thinking hehe)

So...if you think my hair smells good...
You know what to use.

Having bad split ends, damaged hair and just can't bear to chop it off?
Why not try out Tsubaki's High-Concentration Penetrative Repair for Damaged Hair?
Trista used it on the spot and wow!
Her bleached hair looks damn nice, somehow like a revival because it's a drastic difference!
Well, not saying her hair was super bad either okay!
And unfortunately the photos are with her :(
My apologies to my readers!

And really sorry for the unglam background for the products cause I've been pretty caught up lately with school work so all are snapped in a quick while!

Now allow me to continue feasting your eyes with food?

*AHHHHHHH*

  It's so good!!
I couldn't eat it on the day itself as I just recovered from my sickness but...
I bought takeaway HAHAHAH

As much as Trista and I were like having sore throat and all that...
Good game well played, first clap for us.
We can't eat those sweet stuff.
But we couldn't resist dim sum from Swee Choon which was just a few mins walk away?
But love this girl how she just went feasting with me woohooo :*

Needless to say, the famous Beehoon cake thingy!

Xiao Long Bao huhuhu.

And we ordered Har Gao, Siew Mai, Hot and Spicy Soup and some drinks to go along with it.
What a night with Trista!

Thanks for reading guys!
Will try to update more once time allows.
And before I officially become kind of inactive here :(

Loving you guys loads and showering love from 2014 to 2013,
Cynthia.
