10 days of my life.

10 days of my life in Vietnam.
After a long tolling 11 hours spent in the train, we arrived in Tuy Hoa, one of the provinces in South Vietnam.

7.26am
My roommates and I are all up up and awake~ moving off for breakfast in Ruby hotel before doing morning shopping.

12.25am ; 23rd March 2013
Back in Singapore probably at 8pm, Singapore time. How time flies, tell me about it. Now it's 23rd March, the day after we landed.
I can never express how awesome this Overseas Community Project(OCP) group have been. The fun and bond we had together is just simply the best that I've ever experienced with just a large group of people.
You guys are truly awesome, and allowed me to treasure and cherish the time, moment as well as the joy of volunteering :)

Kicking off with this picture of our OCP group on the night of farewell at the kindergarten.

Departure day, 13th March. Really grateful for dad & sis to take their time off just to send me off :)
Not forgetting Haikal who specially came down too. Thanks a lot :)
I really appreciate that effiort.

The very first night, 13th March 13, the day we setted off to Tuy Hoa; Phu Yen which is the location of our project site.
Some of the girls crowded in this tiny room of ours playing UNO. Well, just got to snap a shot of such lovely girls :)

Say HI to my buddy/sister Tracy~ :)

Waking up at approximately 5.45-6am in the morning while we were still on the train. Everyone was filled with awe, witnessing such a breathtaking scenery.
I wonder; how awesome would it be if you could wake up to such a beautiful scenery every morning when you open your eyes.
But on second thought... we might not cherish it if it was there everyday cause we would be taking it for granted.
So, a photo for memory's sake,

Arrival to the place that we will be staying at, with FREE WIFI.
This gets everyone excited!

One of the Sundays, our family day together as an OCP group.
A 3 hours bus ride sounds rather dreadful but it wasn't so bad after all when you have crazy people onboard :)

Through the few days of tired labor, a snapshot to show our tired faces.
With an accomplishment :)

19th March, the day we bidded farewell with the kindergarten students and teachers.
Farewell, the hardest thing to be ever done in life.
Not for a short period of time of farewell, but probably one that might be for eternity.
A mini "banquet" was actually setted up just for our farewell celebration :')
How sweet.
Just look at the amount of food.

Before we left for our overnight train, we were back to the supermart in Tuy Hoa for some food shopping and lunch time!

Some of our Vietnamese friends came to send us off too!

Before boarding the train, how can you not take a photo with your awesome roommates!
Left to Right: Me, Tracy, Bella & Janine

Last day in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City. Visited Vin Sonh school that is specifically for students who come from lower income family, between ages 6-16 years old. They are ranged from Grade 1 - Grade 5.
We taught the kids part of the TP mass dance and my dance partner was my angel!
Tadah. We managed to get a photo with one of the students. Isn't she lovely :')

The night at Ruby Hotel after a few hours of shopping over at the night market!
Other OCP members were busy buying souvenirs and stuff back to Singapore but here we are filling the table with fruits :P
Cheers to fruit fest. with my girls !
Oh, and that's Janine aka En Qi's signature pose.
Say CHEESE!

21st March; we headed to one of the restaurants in Ho Chi Minh city for lunch!
There was a widespread of Vietnamese food and I'm pretty sure I liked it a lot!
There goes the explanation of my weight gain. Oops :p
A photo of me and Giao while waiting for the food!

There was too many variety that I had to make a collage of all the photos of the food, to save you the trouble of scrolling through every single one of them.
Please keep a tissue beside you in case you decide to salivate :)

22nd March; the day we left Ho Chi Minh back to hometown!

Ending my trip with a photo of my angel(Barrett) and I on the plane :)

My... dedication:
I would like to thank these group of people for making my OCP trip such an awesome one.
I would have never imagined myself to enjoy an OCP trip up to this extent.
But you guys created wonders :)
I did not manage to get individual shots with every single one of them, but here are a few :)

For a buddy who is named Tracy:
Thanks for always being there for me when I needed it and always sharing foodies with me!
The one who made me accept to the fate of YOLO sometimes.
A cute and bubbly girl in the OCP team.
From strangers to a buddy whom I would call a sister.
Trucks of love for you :)

For an angel of mine named Barrett:
Thanks for the elmo & kiirotori drawing!
It's really cute and I appreciate the effort :)
My gungho angel and someone who loves dark chocolate which is the same as me!(which I later found out Jing Yi likes it too :D )
Cheers to US!
Thank you for being there and always making me laugh so badly that I think I might form abs (just kidding.)
Thank you and see you soon!

That's it, guys :)
Volunteering; the biggest joy from deep inside the heart.
Give and share with love, the joy you get is something you will never regret.
Start loving and never stop loving.

Day 1/2 of Vietnam :)

Currently in Vietnam and resting in my hostel. The weather is pretty warm and we will be cycling later on to the kindergarten! 😊 I'm not gonna cycle unfortunately... Because I'm the pillion rider. So someone else is gonna give me a ride on the bike instead! That's Alden.

I'm doing pretty well trying to settle myself in but I guess it kinda still needs time. And with wifi in the hostel, that's a total bliss for me to keep in touch with this blog of mine. We took an 11 hours overnight train last night and its pretty tiring, all the jerks etc. was pretty annoying but I guess we were all too tired to be bothered about it :) let the pictures talk!

When fatigue hits in.

Officially proclaiming that I'm tired. Yes I really am :(
My schedule is so tightly packed.
Today was like...buzy buzy bumble bee.
Had to meet up earlier for Vietnam meeting from 11am-1pm, AMS course camp briefing originally from 2-6pm which I had to leave at 4pm for my Vietnam meeting again which ended at about 7pm.
I am tired, but I shall try to push on.

Before I forget, I assisted my mum to cook green bean soup!

Firstly, you've got to soak the green beans in a bowl of water and wash it clean.

Put it in a pot that will be used to cook the green bean soup. Fill it up with water up to 1/2 or 3/4 depth of the pot depending on the amount you prefer :)
Heat up the green beans in the pot.

When it starts to boil, throw in a bunch of pandan leaves to enhance the taste and smell of the green bean soup :)

When you see the green bean mixture boiling, with the green beans partly softened(due to heating) , add in 2 table spoons of sugar so that the green bean taste is sweet and nice!

Continue heating it at a low level heat.

And you're done!

*Extras: If you like to eat tapioca jelly(ones used in bubur chacha) , you can boil it in water too then add it in to the green bean soup! I love eating that and you can't stop saying "Oishi!" :))

Oh and to continue about today, my Vietnam teammates and I had to get our handprints on the banner that we will be bringing along to Vietnam :)
Look at how awesome it can get!

Last but not least, the revealing of our angels for the "Angel & Mortal" game.

Guess what I've got: Sesame Street hand sanitizer(totally what I need cause I always like to use that and it's SS designed!) and 5 petit boxes of choco from Meiji.

My angel is...Li Yen! Thanks so much for the gift :) love love it!

My mortal was Alex, which I think he is so unfortunate cause I've got him a... pair of socks 😋
Oppsie. Sorry for being my primary school friend and attempting to troll you. Got to treat him Gongcha or Koi since its part of his gift too :)

That's all,
goodbye ❤

Universal Studios w/ simple best buddies :)

Back to Universal Studios Singapore, my own workplace. Haven't been back for about a month or so due to school and events, I finally got a chance to enter the park and play with my best pals!! :)
Say hello to them:

Taken at the New York Street. I would say yesterday was a pretty fine day :) It was a bright and sunny day with some exceptions of heavy downpours which stopped pretty soon as well. At least we managed to try out all the main rides(which are usually the exciting ones) so I would say it was a successful outing to USS!
applaud*

Oh, did you know that USS has recently added in Sesame Street into the park? Bet you guys know about it with their huge publicity on facebook.
